The Ones I Couldn’t Take Apart: questions
What does “The Ones I Couldn’t Take Apart” mean?
Some vintage treasures are simply too beautiful, interesting, or special to dismantle. I find them while sourcing materials, then give them the chance to be enjoyed in their existing form. Saved from the Charmageddon, if you will. ✨
Are these pieces handmade by Laura?
These are sourced older or previously owned finds, generally offered as found. Laura discovered and selected them; they are not presented as her independently assembled upcycled creations. Any known alterations should be described in the individual listing.
Are these pieces vintage or new?
This collection features sourced older or previously owned pieces. Age, history, and previous use vary by item. “Vintage” is not a promise that every piece has a documented date; check the listing for what is actually known.
Will vintage jewelry show signs of age?
It may. Surface wear, patina, finish changes, or other signs of a previous life can be part of a vintage find’s character. Review the photos and condition notes. Known significant flaws should be disclosed in the individual listing; a missing condition note is not a guarantee of flawless condition.
Do you know the age, maker, or materials?
Identifying details are provided when reliably known. A marking can be described without proving the maker or metal content. Possible gemstone identities, estimated dates, and seller-supplied information should remain clearly labeled as unverified. If something is unknown, I would rather say so than give it a fabulous fictional biography.
Are these pieces independently authenticated?
Do not assume independent authentication. Any documented verification must be expressly stated and supported in the individual listing. Markings, logos, and prior-seller claims alone are not independent authentication. Brand & Upcycling Disclaimer explains how brand references and unverified components are described.
Why didn’t you take them apart?
I had every intention of giving these treasures a makeover. Then I looked at them and thought… absolutely not. 😂 Some pieces already have a story worth keeping.
Will you find another one exactly like it?
Many are individual discoveries, so an identical replacement cannot be guaranteed. Sourcing vintage is a treasure hunt, and the treasure does not come with a restock button.
Brand & Upcycling Note: When a designer brand is referenced, it identifies only the marking on a repurposed component. Laura’s Charmageddon independently created the finished piece and is not affiliated with, sponsored, endorsed, or authorized by that brand. Unless specifically documented, the component has not been independently authenticated.
